Torchwood - Cyberwoman (Predictions)
In honor of Torchwood: "Cyberwoman" coming out today (well, it's just after midnight, so yes, today), I present to you my speculations regarding the relevant episode.
My feelings as I wait for “Cyberwoman” to air can best be described as anticipation mixed with fear. On one hand, I’ve grown very fond of Ianto and want to see more of him, as the episode advertises. On the other hand, I know it’s written by Chibnall, who’d also penned the rather atrocious “Day One.”
Also, everything points to this being the ‘hidden depths of anguish’ episode – and I don’t think there’ll ever come a day when this phrase fails to make me giggle. Somehow, I don’t think that was the summary writer’s intended reaction, but come on! Hidden depths of anguish. Sounds like something out of a V.C. Andrews novel, though in all likeness with less incest involved.
My impressions of “Cyberwoman” prior to viewing run as follows: There’s a Cyberwoman hidden in the Torchwood basement. Judging by the episode’s working title, her name is Lisa. Ianto is either in love with her, or attached in some other way. This gives him angst. Ianto also has a raging crush on Jack, as can be seen in previous episodes. This clearly doesn’t help, especially since the previews show Jack being rather brusque with Ianto.
Reads like a fanfic, don’t it? Mmm, fanfic.
Maybe Lisa would get jealous over Ianto, and that would be her reason for going on a rampage. Hell, they could even call it “Lisa Finds Out”. The Gundam Wing fans would dig it.
