I just watched the Farscape premiere (which I may have seen before on TV, a long time ago, but I can't be sure.) First impressions go something like this:

- I approve that Crichton's a big geek. Warms my black little heart, that does. It wasn't until he fixed the little robot dude with tape that I went 'awww' though. I like that sort of gentleness in my male characters.

- ...I'm going to fall so very hard for Zhaan, aren't I?

- Puppets! Why, oh why are you so pettable? (I don't know how the actors didn't spend all their time petting Pilot or Rygel. Or maybe they did. Or maybe that's just my 'must pet everything' gene acting up.)

- Don't know enough about D'Argo, Crais or Aeryn to say much just yet. They all seem cool, though.

Jon is frelling hot and he only gets hotter.

Yes...yes you are. Zhaan is such an enigma character, but I love her.

Jon and D'Argo's friendship as they get to know each other is one of the highlights for me.

Farscape is one of my all time favorite shows.

Zhaan is awesome, but I have to admit it was Aeryn that I ended up just totally head-over-heels for. It takes a little while, though.

I also like Crichton and I'm surprised how many people find him boring; he's one of the few male characters in sci-fi who I find really, really attractive ... I think at least part of it is that they actually wrote him realistically, as a resourceful and intelligent man who is about three thousand miles beyond his depth. I love watching him keep teetering on the edge of going nuts from the culture shock but almost always reeling it back in ...

And have you ever seen celebrities appearing with Muppets off-script? They can't stop hugging them. It's absolutely adorable to see somebody who's normally cool and collected just lose it in front of the press. "Omigod omigod this is incredible I'm on stage standing next to Big Bird and he's acting so normal like it's nothing and MUST HUG SQUEEEEEE!!"

Two episodes in, I'm loving how Aeryn is the snarky one. And the lovely accent certainly doesn't hurt.

I'm getting very fond of Crichton. As you said, he feels very real, without ever losing his sense of humor or resourcefulness. Now *this* is the way to do a story with an outsider lead, who's *not* a cabbagehead.

Still reserving judgement on the inevitable pairing of those two. (Hey, I avoid spoilers but I do have a friendslist.)

Awwwww! No, I haven't seen this, but awwwwww!

I can't wait to hear your reaction to "Crackers Don't Matter." It has my favorite cultureshock moment of the entire series.

And yes, that's Aeryn. Sexy, confident, snarky, competent. Everything I look for in a heroine. ^_^

That's one of those things they let happen naturally, thank the Goddess. No "male lead, female lead, THEY MUST MATE IMMEDIATELY" pressure like I've seen elsewhere (*cough* Star Wars, and boy did they regret that).

Great title! It's in the second season, isn't it?

Booya! Another show with fab female characters never hurt. And thank heavens for naturally-progressing relationships.

I ... think so? I think I may have marathoned the first two seasons shortly after they were first on.

And yeah. There are too few actually-hot actually-interesting female characters on TV, and way too few shows where the writers actually seem to have ever been in relationships in their lives. They confuse having a moment of passion with falling in love.

I think that may be the key phrase here.
