Entertainment Last Night
Jul. 21st, 2005 11:39 amWent to an advance screening of The Island, with
boblovesmusic, last night, and was very, very pleasantly surprised. The previews made it look like a dumb action flick that took an interesting premise and peopled it with characters so dumb they gave cellery a bad name. Well, the previews suck, because the characters turned out to be cool, and the premise was pretty well explored. I enjoyed the movie quite a lot - and this is from someone who is NOT impressed with the previous works of Michael Bay. I was indifferent to Armageddon, and absolutely loathed Pearl Harbor. Just goes to show you people can develop their skills and get better.
Afterward, we went to Club Passim, where
boblovesmusic is working this summer, and got to go in and listen to good music. Yay!
To finish the night off, I finally learned where the entrance to this one comic book store in Harvard Square is. I feel really dumb now. ^^;; Also, I should not be allowed in comic book stores, in general. Too much stuff I want. So tempting. So broke. Want, dammit!
