It's always interesting, rewatching stuff. Sometimes, it reaffirms what you thought before. And sometimes, it makes you wonder what kind of PMS you were on, the first time round.
The first time I watched Doctor Who: The Movie, I didn't like Grace at all. I honestly can't say why, cause I thought she was pretty awesome, on re-watch. Huh. And this isn't just a case of not disliking her anymore. I really, genuinely liked her. She made a good companion; vulnerable but not loaded down with baggage, competent without being a wunderkind. Hell, even the gratuitous smoochies with the Doctor felt a lot less out of place. Regeneration crisis, plus Daphne Ashbrook is quite pretty. I'd snog her.
On less fortunate note, I'd like to know who to blame for this version of the Master - the writers, or Erik Roberts. My gut tells me to go with 'both'. We're not even in the campy cattegory anymore. There's campy, and then there's bad.
That, and the deus ex TARDIS at the end. The movie made it seem like bringing dead people back to life was a breeze, requiring no sacrifice on anyone's part. It does, however, lead me to the theory that...

ETA: I'm no continuity whore, but the 'prologue' makes even my head hurt. a) Didn't Skaro go boom, oh, ten or so serials before the movie? And b) Who thinks Daleks put anyone (other than Davros, apparently) on trial, instead of going 'ex-ter-mi-nate!' and proceeding to do so?
