mllelaurel: (Nine and Mickey)
Hey, look - Lily was social all weekend!

[livejournal.com profile] nevacaruso came up to Boston again on Friday and we were up all night, geeking and slightly drunk.

I then came down with a migraine and insomnia, but it was still worth it. It's a damn good thing I got to crash for about four hours during the day, restoring some higher brain function.

Around five pm on Saturday, we headed over to [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard and [livejournal.com profile] yunatwilight's house, where the four of us watched "Evolution of the Daleks" (with Tory's Dalek Sec model sitting on the coffee table, looking on in Daleky discombobulation) and "The Lazarus Experiment."

After that, we all headed over to [livejournal.com profile] rigel's for her birthday party. That? Was a complete and total blast. So many cute, smart, funny people - including the birthday girl! I know I babbled inanely at some of them, for which I apologize, but I didn't go into introvert shock in the least. Go me!

Note number one: Truth or Dare is actually more fun at our age.

Note number two: Chocolate raspberry cake is a heavenly thing. Check out Rosie's bakery when you have the chance. Mead is also tasty - especially if you're stealing sips from someone else's cup.

The party ran till about five in the morning, at which point crashing at Tory and Cyn's house for the 'night' seemed like the best course of action. Seriously, the sun was coming up at this point.

Crashed again. Got another four hours of sleep or so.

Morning was filled with good coffee and geeking, and then, [livejournal.com profile] ineffablewombat came over, along with her boy. Boy's name is Craig and he is made of shiny. I fully plan on lj stalking him, if/when I find out what his lj username is.

And now I'm back home, and that wraps it up. Yes. Current goal: keep myself awake till at least nine, so I don't wind up waking up at three in the morning tomorrow. Wish me luck!

This episode was all about Martha being awesome and kicking ass. Including the Doctor's, verbally. I love her very much and enjoyed the episode quite a lot.

There was also plot stuff. It was pretty spiffy, but held no candle to our girl. I admit, some of the science was a tad sketchy, but it was surrounded with enough plausable-sounding stuff that I can forgive it. We don't watch Doctor Who for the science, remember? Especially not in a serial that refers to reversing the polarity of the neutron flow.

Final score: 2

...Ah. There's that introvert shock. Not that the sleep deprivation is helping. Must stay up half an hour to two and a half hours longer. Grargh.

I'm also in that state where I haven't eaten all day, but I'm too tired to be hungry. I did have two cups of apple juice and plan to have another, so I won't be dehydrated and hungover-feeling whenever it is that I wake up.
