May. 9th, 2007 05:56 amI'd very much like to know who was doing proof reading for Tor publishers in 2003, I really would. I'd then like to steal their job mercilessly.
Two hundred-odd words into Kushiel's Avatar, and I've spotted enough misspelled words and homonym abuse, as well as the odd gramatical oddity, to kick up a fuss about. Now, I don't lay this blame on Jacqueline Carey - when you produce this kind of volume of work, you're bound to mistype the occasional word. Her editors, however? Catching those mistakes are what they're bloody paid for. And thus we end up with a good book, poorly edited. No love.
