More Intercon signup news
Nov. 5th, 2009 09:59 amI've signed up for Like Putting a Leash on a Rocket Launcher at 7:00 sharp last night. And it's a good thing - this game filled up in half an hour: a speed second only to the Brits! hazliya writes wonderful characters, and the presence of kink themes does not hurt.
If luck is with me, there'll still be slots left for female players in Story Wars next Wednesday. The blurb makes it sound awesome, and I've heard really good things from last year's run. Incidentally, if the GMs want to re-run its prequel at some point, too, it wouldn't make me cry, except for tears of joy.
My backup for this slot is Shadow Over Babylon. There are a couple of things I find worrysome about it. I'm not much interested in war gaming or political negotiation, but I have it on good authority there are interesting roles, especially ones for women, which deal with neither. And while I'm no fan of Lovecraft himself (purple prose plus bigotry=OTP?), I do find myself enjoying the writing of others which uses the mythos. Also, it's AE. A huge positive right there.
I'm hoping that if'n when the bid for Sound of Drums goes through, it'll be slotted for Saturday afternoon. If not, Life at the Securemarket will be my top choice for that slot, though it'll likely be full by then. My second choice is Lost in the Jungles of Time. I love the concept, but I should check in with the GM to see what she means by 'puzzles.'
Of the games that appeal to me on Sunday morning, I've already played in one (GM Space) and the other (10 Bad) will likely be full by the time I get to signing up. Most likely will be sleeping in. Which may be well, considering Daylight Savings.
And, of course,wired_lizard and I are GMing Lifeline on Saturday morning. Those of you who haven't played should sign up!
