...Holy crap, Masks is this weekend. I think I'm fairly prepped, but a few more character sheet re-reads won't hurt. I really wish there was some corrolary to the 'don't say who you're playing' rule, because I really wish I knew who was playing various people I know are going to be there for a fact. I can definitely see why the rule exists, especially in a game with so many secret identities, but being able to put a player face to a character name makes it much easier for me.

In other LARP news, both games [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard and I are running at SLAW are full with waitlist, and we've gotten fifteen out of twenty-four questionnaires back for Sound of Drums. Our players are awesome!

Speaking of awesome players, current and former, [livejournal.com profile] captainecchi and [livejournal.com profile] electric_d_monk are running Lifeline, one of our games, on Saturday morning at SLAW. Those of you who haven't played should totally sign up! I'll be very excited to see how this run goes, as it's the first time neither [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard nor I will be involved. It's a real thrill, I think, to see one's work go out and do its own thing, without you babying it, so to speak.

Since I last posted, various games had been added to the SLAW schedule, including [livejournal.com profile] elenuial's Cumberland County High School Reunion, which ran at at Intercon last year, as a part of Intercon Jazz. I've heard really awesome things about it and can't wait to play.

It feels like all I'm posting about lately are LARPs. And hey, major hobby, so of course it gets posted about. Truth is, this has been a very low-key fall so far. I'm in the dregs of finishing up the required stuff for school, so I'm only taking one class this semester. Next semester will be my final internship, and after that, I have plans. Mainly, I want to take a paralegal certification course, to, you know, actually have a credible job after graduation. It's funny. I originally majored in Psych as a compromise with my mom. She wouldn't bug me about majoring in Writing and Lit, if I added something that actually paid to my plate. Problem is, we both assumed Psych, um, paid. Which it doesn't below a high-grad level, and that if you're lucky. But hey, I'll have an actual Bachelor's to add to my certification, which adds to hiring credibility and start pay, no matter what the degree is actually in, and from my research so far, paralegal work, if I can get it, can net me $40k a year, which is decent living wage in Massachusetts. Not bad. And since I won't be a full lawyer, no freakin' eighty-hour work weeks!

Eventually, either in the next two years or later, I'll apply to various PsyD programs and see how I do. But this way, I won't be screwing myself if I don't get in.
