LJ went away. Then, it came back.

Meanwhile, I managed to slice my foot on my own bedframe, and drop the Deathly Hallows on my other foot. Fuckit.

(The book's ok, by the way.)

In happier news, we get a BPAL Lunacy update.

Singing Moon
Moonlight over grave grass, meadowsweet, marsh hellebore, rock sea-lavender, Irish Lady's-tresses, melancholy thistle, and wood bitter-vetch, with the scent of autumn fires in the distance, sprayed by wind howling over the Atlantic.

If I could be certain this would smell like firewood and ocean, I'd like that. With my luck, it'd smell like anything but firewood and ocean, and none of the other notes are my thing at all.

I might still like a sniff, though, if anyone in the Boston area is getting this.

The Emathides
Gleaming eyes, screeching voices, glistening wings: black amber, black orchid, black currant, olive blossom, wood violet, lavender, blue musk, rose attar, and cedar.

Eh.

Virgo 2007
Fennel, valerian, maidenhair fern, carrot seed, honeysuckle, and myrtle.

This sounds like it smells pleasant enough, but nothing that makes me drool. Plus I would never be allowed near my cat again, if I smelled like valerian.

Still haven't heard anything regarding my Lab order. Bah. Waiting sucks wet socks.

Ow, feet. Dropping any HP book on your foot except, perhaps, #2, is assault with a deadly weapon. Hope the bruise goes away soon!

... trying to figure out how anything with ancient gym socks valerian in it could smell pleasant...

I think that all jokes about injured feet have been played out at this point, so I'll just say that I hope they feel better soon.

I don't mind my HP books suffering some falls, by the way. I think I may have literally thrown CoS against the wall in frustration at one point, and my copy of GoF is currently being held together by sheer force of will.

In this case, it was assault with a deathly weapon. Strangely, this doesn't make my foot feel all that much better about it.

Good point. I'm used to valerian in medicinal form, where they actually managed to make it fairly nice. ...So it's that bad, huh? The masochist in me almost wants to smell it now.

Blasphemy! (I can be rather Madame Pince-ish about damage to books :p )

Ow.

Valerian, when it comes powdered in capsules, smells like old gym socks. I have, regrettably, spilled some of this on myself during my history. It is memorable.
