Continuing with Heroes episode 3x2
Sep. 23rd, 2008 11:17 pm- Scene with Claire and Sandra - Ouch! ...Un-ironically. So many levels of ouch.
- Wow, do I not want Angela's dreams.
- Oh god, alt!Peter and Syler need to start a Pretentious Monologuing Villains Club. If the parallel is intentional, cool. But less cool as it's alt!Peter.
- My gods, I love Angela. A lot.
- Mohinder, you're acting weird. Stop doing drugs.
- My thoughts on Mohinder/Maya still equal ewww. But hell, this isn't even Mohinder. Sigh. I already miss his season 2 self.
- Bob, you're kind of an asshole. And kind of right. I kind of love you.
- Tracy-who-looks-like-Nikki seems competent. Possibly up to no good, but good at what she does. I like.
- Yep, she's badass. Which is hot. Sadly, she also seems to have amnesia, which is should have been retired in the 70s as a plot device.
- Oh, come on. I'm not buying this thief chick so far.
- "I can't defend myself. Sure, I can heal, but what kind of a lame power is that? I'm still just a victim." Is the show actually going to address this? Good for them!
- Meanwhile, Claire needs a hug. From someone who's not a git like alt!Peter.
- Alt!Peter, you're officially useless.
- Theory: Nathan's hallucinating Linderman. Evidence - he appears out of nowhere, nods at Tracy. She doesn't notice him. Hell, she wouldn't have talked to Nathan if she thought someone else was in the room.
- Aw, Bob's dead? Suck.
- Sylar being unkillable is going to get tedious. Wait, going to get? Is!
- Elle go splodey-boom. Go Elle!
- My guess on future! Hiro and Ando: Ando's not the villain. Hiro's the one who goes unhinged and Ando has to stop him. And man, no matter whether I'm right or not, this sucks no matter how you slice it.
- Whoa, Tracy's not really Nikki, is she? Whole different power, for one.
- Dude, I love Hiro and Ando for actually communicating.
- Mohinder smash? Dude's turning into the Hulk!
- Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
- Matt's talking to a turtle. It's demented, yet kinda cute.
- Hah! I was right. Linderman's a hallucination.
- Oh, Angela. You're treading dangerous ground. If you get killed, I'll be very, very pissed.
Seriously, lady, you're one of my main reasons for watching now.
- Yuh...buh...whuh? Well, it explains the parallels with Peter, at least...
Verdict: A significant improvement over the season premiere. I'm not sure how much that's saying right now, but at least the plot twists felt coherent this time, rather than like some guy dropping acid.

Date: 2008-09-24 12:22 pm (UTC)It's also more interesting if Ando's not the villain. And I repeat how much I loved that the two of them talked about it. With another two characters, Hiro's future vision might not have been divulged till the season finale.

Dammit, now I need a Heroes icon.
Also... I've been pointing out the sameness between Peter and Sylar since season 1 - in-character costume/makeup, I had a hard time telling them apart (in season 1). So that (possible) reveal made total sense to me. (Also - Peter & Sylar's powers are awfully similar...)
However, I also thought of an alternative to the above interpretation: 'mother' not as a literal meaning, but as a metaphorical one. "I'm going to train and teach you the ways of the new regime."

Date: 2008-09-24 10:11 pm (UTC)...And this season, Peter and Sylar both monologue pretentiously! Hey, it's as good an argument for common heredity as any.
I doubt that Angela's being metaphorical for one simple reason: I'd like to believe she's smarter than that. Any metaphorical mentorship won't give her a real hold on Sylar and she knows it. He's the very model of a sociopath. On the other hand, she probably also knows about his mommy issues. If she's either really his mother or has a way of faking the genetics, she may actually be able to control Sylar.
