When I originally went to bed, Monkey was sleeping peacefully on the kitchen chair, near-blending into it. Sometime between then and now, he must have been let out, because I wake up to persistent cries of 'nya nya nya' at my door, and there he is, sopping wet - and clutching something in his mouth. For my half-asleep sanity, I forewent taking a closer look at what, exactly, that something was, though I suspect it was once alive and of the rodent persuasion. He then proceeded to go and wake up Dad, to show off his prize. I sincerely hope Dad's disposed of it, though we both pet the cat afterward, to let him know he's still loved and appreciated, despite occasionally squicking us out. I realize cats are predators, and I realize this is his way of showing he loves us, but... ew.

Also, I find his sanity seriously suspect, going outside in this weather. But there you have it.

And now, I sleep again.

For some reason, my cat also likes going out in the rain. Though she, at least, finds some kind of shelter from which to watch it--the porch, under a chair, etc.

Generally, Monkey watches from the doorway, but I guess he felt like going wild last night.
