I haven't posted in ages, so have an old meme!

Name my favorite character and/or pairing in each of these fandoms and I'll a) babble about it for a paragraph or so, and b) owe you a drabble/ramble on your topic of choice.

I know I haven't really blogged much about some of these (and, in fact, I chose more obscure loves of mine,) but if you know me, they should be deadly obvious.

Speaking of knowing me: name order is utterly irrelevant.

3 & 4. I think you'll definitely like Monochrome Factor. Saiyuki's more of a toss-up, but it's still well-worth giving a shot.

7. Favorite character was a toss-up between Nine and Jack, but since I couldn't decide, you get credit. Pairing is correct.

Err...maybe I should have put up a note, considering how many of my favorite pairings aren't pairs per se.

Sora/Riku/Kairi makes me all kinds of gooshy. The very idea of pairing any two of them without the third makes my heart hurt a little, there's just so much love on all sides.

Riku may be messed, but everything he does is for and about Sora and Kairi. The lengths he'd go to for each of them are kind of staggering. It's a good thing that kind of monomaniacal focus is spread between two different people, or it would be kind of overwhelming/unhealthy.

Kairi, I get the impression, knows exactly what she wants all the way back to the beginning of game. She's just waiting for the boys to figure it out. In a lot of ways she's the centre of the 'pairing;' the one who makes the boys' foo less fooey. (People who bash her kind of make me want to kill them in the face.)

Sora. Um, Sora. Loves World. In a general sense. And needs a clue-by-four in a more specific sense. Honestly, if the beginning of game had a 'make out with Riku already' as an action...actually, there would probably be no plot. So maybe it's a good thing for the player that Sora's oblivion knows no bounds. I think he has managed to piece some things together by the end of KH2, though.

Together, they fight crime Heartless.

Axel/Roxas

This pairing appeals to the Cold-Prickly in me SO HARDCORE. Here are two characters who literally have no hearts. There aren't going to be any confessions of true love or sappy gestures. And yet, here's really a case where actions speak louder than words.

Axel first betrays the Organization for Roxas's sake, then dies just to keep whatever small part of Roxas that's left in Sora alive. And then, he contacts him from beyond the grave. Cause Axel's just that cool.

Roxas is harder to read, cause, well, he starts out as a blank slate. Still, his actions are also indicative. The fact that he has been asleep inside Sora up till this point, but wakes up and calls mental combat on him specifically after Axel dies is kind of telling, as is the fact that he can only find a semblance of peace after the abovementioned posthumous conversation.

And then, there's the fact that they're friends above all else. They hang, they eat ice-cream, they actually talk. Kind of important.

For the record, depending on how mean I'm feeling, my assumption on what they were up to during their time in the Org runs along two lines. Line the first is that Axel grew steadily more attached while Roxas remained oblivious till it was too late. Line the second is that they were shagging, but convincing themselves that it's just 'what friends do.' Again, no major realizations till it's too late.

Yes, this is a tragic pairing. Why do you ask?

Makes me happy. In my pants. I love his voice, I love his muscles, I love his snarky awesome personality. I love how much shit he's been through, how he handles it and how he doesn't, um, set small goals. (I'm trying to avoid spoilers as much as I can.) I also love how he's, in a lot of ways, a father figure to Tidus, if not a particularly fuzzy one.

Mmmmyeah, if I existed in the same universe with him, I suspect I'd never get anything useful done. And annoy the shit out of him with my fangirling. Ah, well.
