Danielle is awesome because she's tough and resourceful, no matter how shitty her circumstances may be. I also love that she's a loving wife and mother, without being shunted into a 'stay in the kitchen' role.

Rem's awesomeness really comes across in the way she combines utter disgust toward humanity (especially the Yotsuba board members) with a twisted sort of faith in at least one human being worth saving. It bites her in the ass, but there's pretty much nothing in Death Note that actually results in positive consequences.

I love Kozue because she doesn't give a rat's ass for what anyone thinks of her. She's ruthless and fierce, and always herself even when she's tied to Miki. At Ohtori, especially, that's intensely admirable.
