I'll blink and back away from the scary psychic meme now, thankyou.

Oh, these things shouldn't be *upsetting*! It reminds me of a horoscope parody my friend and I were listening to. Most of them were stupid, but when it got to hers it simply said "You will never find true happiness. What are you going to do-- cry about it?"

She burst into tears.

I can think of a lot of better things Lily means.

Oh, it didn't upset me. I'm just '...'-ing at the uncanny accuracy. ... is a very elloquent form of expression. It's also funny in a slightly non-funny way, as any decision I make is by default bad until proven otherwise. I blame it on Jewish neurosis.

That horoscope thing, though? Yeah, that was mean. Yeesh.

Well, Lily does have this terrific tendency to mean 'one who randomly babbles when tired.' Would you believe I managed to work hobbits into the first draft of the paper (on Welty's The Optimist's Daughter) I just turned in this morning?

How did you manage that? That's awesome!

I described the main character's attachment to her hometown and comfortable, safe childhood as hobbit-like? What with the Shire and all.

Sadly, I had to cut that, as it didn't really fit the paper's style. Shame, though. Crit papers need more hobbits in them.
