Here's the thing. The Doctor Who and Torchwood fandoms have worked some kind of miracle. Lily is actually writing and completing fic. Unfortunately, Lily's been extremely antisocial/avoidant, when it comes to posting fic in comms. My journal, sure, and the fandom's fic archive, sure, but comms? Noooo.

Well, I'm having an assertive day, and am therefore considering giving my work greater exposure. Problem is, I have no idea if it's rude or silly to post fic to comms weeks or months after it's been posted elsewhere. It's entirely possible I'm overthinking everything and being a doof. In fact, I know that to be the case. Still, I would love some help/confirmation. Heeelp?

*nods* Not rude or silly. Some fandoms seem to not like massive cross posting on the same day, but I've never seen delayed posting objected to at all.

That's actually a good point. I'll make sure not to over-crosspost, or for that matter, not post a glut of fic to a single comm all at once. Thanks for the tip!

I... have been known to not post fics for up to like 8 months after they were written and posted in my writing journal or something XD I tend to just write shit, leave it, then post it in mass XD

Ah, good. I'm not quite at the eight month marker yet, so I should be alright. ^_^

I see nothing wrong with doing that. A lot of people are probably like me, and read exclusively in LJ. They may have missed your stories.

Excellent point! Very encouraging, too. Thanks!

Other people have given you reassurance that It's Not Silly, but I'll add my voice to theirs. I've posted to comms after fics have been finished. I think that authors like Min have done it, too. Get as many people reading your stories as possible, because they deserve the exposure!

*bluuuush* Like my ego wasn't big enough, I'm now being compared to Min. Seriously, I won't be able to fit through doors thanks to said ego, and it'll be aaaaalll your fault~ ^_~

I just dropped by your journal after reading, what I presume is, the rather fantastic fic you're talking about. And am terribly grateful to all the people who (rightly) told you it wasn't rude or silly, and that you did repost, yes. :)

Yep, "In the Absence" was one of the fics in question. And I'm still not done blushing over the lovely reviews I'm getting. ^_^
