BPAL Update
Jun. 29th, 2007 01:14 amNone of the Limited Editions are really my thing. And so my credit history remains secure.
On the other hand, I'm so very tempted to scoop up all the Good Omens scents on sheer principle, regardless of whether or not I like the notes in them.
Agnes Nutter
Gunpowder, charred wood, smoke and rusty nails
Woodsmoke good. Rust/metalics bad. Gunpowder unknown.
Aziraphale
Ethereal musk, blonde woods and dusty Bible accords.
I have trouble imagining what the musk and woods might smell like. Gonna have to bum a sniff off of someone local.
Crowley
Infernal musk, red patchouli, lilac cologne, mahogany, lemon rind, oakmoss, leather, vanilla husk.
So much stuff! No idea what it would smell like, all together. Hopefully not like patchouli. Likewise bumming sniffs.
Shadwell
Roll-ups, mildewed raincoat, sweet tea, and condensed milk.
Sounds good but could be too sweet, and the mildew is a wildcard. La la la, bumming sniffs, yo!
War
Red ginger, black spices, patchouli, honeysuckle, and three blood-soaked red musks.
Waaay too spicy for me. Also, patchouli.
Good Omens conclusion: Hope someone in Boston gets 'em and smell for myself.
The situation is reversed with Stardust. On one hand, I don't have the same emotional attachment. On the other hand, I'm liking the scent descriptions.
Fairy Market
Otherworldy golden incense, blooming wind-flowers, everlasting lavender, bluebell, a faint whiff of exotic sugared candies, and fae mist upon wet green grass.
Oooh!
Tristran
redwood, tonka bean, white sandalwood, lemon peel, patchouli, rosewood, coriander, and crushed mint.
Good but not enthralling, and I fear the patchouli.
Victoria
Graceful vanilla musk, tea rose, and stargazer lily.
A definite possibility...
The Witch Queen
Wild plum, red musk, tuberose, calla lily, heliotrope, pimento, ylang ylang and beeswax beneath a dark haze of sinister purple-hued incense smoke.
Plum good. Other stuff wildcards. Decisions, decisions.
Yvaine
The high, crystalline scent of a star-filled night with blue lavender and lush magnolia.
Lavender. With not much to balance it out. Sad-making.
Stardust conclusion: Get an imp of Fairy Market, if someone's doing a decant circle.
smelly_freaks folks? Wait to hear from others on Victoria and The Witch Queen.
