State of the Lily
Jul. 9th, 2007 03:02 pmPhysical: I've had to wear a hand splint to bed lately, but it's actually not as uncomfortable as it sounds and it helps a lot. It's getting re-molded on Thursday, though, so we'll see how that goes.
Emotional: Weekend with friends v. good for sanity. Hoo boy, I had no idea how much I needed that. I love my shiny people~
Currently reading: Finished Kushiel's Justice last night. 700 pages in two days - go me! Or, more accurately, go Jacqueline Carey for engaging my attention. Currently re-reading The Last Unicorn, by Peter S. Beagle - an old favorite that's just as good now as it was years ago. Hmm... I should see if the library has the movie. I haven't seen that in a while either.
Currently watching: Saw Battlefield again on Saturday with the Who people. Shiny cracky goodness. Next up is Genesis of the Daleks, correct?
And before that, I get to introduce
mirrored_echo to Babylon 5. Squee!
Computer: Any day now. Could be today, even, though I'm really not that lucky.
Games: Phoenix Flap is this coming Saturday. Yay! I'm getting costuming help from the awesome
nevacaruso and her parents' Time Lord wardrobe, which is even more yay.
Meanwhile, the Project Diana bluesheets make me very, very squeeful.
KoL: Playing around in Spokyraven Manor and the Worm Wood, having finished my Level 10 quest. I could have just quickly leveled up my stats at the Hidden Temple and started on Level 11, but that's no fun! This way, I get to explore areas I didn't get around to in my last ascension.
Chips and potions still the most useful thing invented since sliced cheese.
Baghdad
Amber, saffron and bergamot with mandarin, nutmeg, Bulgar rose, musk and sandalwood.
In imp: Oh, yummy! Slightly spicy and 1001 Nights-ish. I don't know how else to describe it.
On me (wet): Not calling this one yet. I keep thinking I've got a whif of something metalic under the yum, but that may be paranoia.
On me (dry): Not metallic at all! My brain keeps telling me I don't smell like me, though, and I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad one.
Verdict: Indecisive! I may still get an imp of this, if only for game/costuming purposes. The 'not me' instinct could be a good tool for getting into character. A tasty, tasty tool.
Vinland
The legendary site of the Viking colony in Newfoundland founded circa 985. Crisp northern wind blowing over loganberry, wild roses, prairie crocus, iris versicolor Linné, mountain avens, yellow birch bark, mayflower and maple leaf.
In imp: Last time I sniffed this, I was very disappointed not to get any of the loganberry. I decided to give this scent another shot, though, and am very glad I did! There's that berry!
On me (wet): Soap. Noooo!
On me (dry): ...But wait. Something seems to be coming back, and it's not soapy at all! It's crisp and tangy and juicy - I smell like a spring forest! Now, if I could only be sure it's not just mixing with the remnants of Glasgow I already had on.
Verdict: Tricksy scent! I guess I'm going to have to try it yet again. This time when I'm absolutely sure my hands are clean. Third time's the charm, y/n?
Ehehehe...
wired_lizard,
yunatwilight, I may be cleaning you out of your room scents, permission pending. The above two, plus Prague. Sorry about that. ^_^;
