And I'm enjoying this series a great deal. It's been my comfort food all week. Now, I'm of two minds whether it can be enjoyed without being familiar with Clamp's entire repertoire - I am, so I can't judge.

First, a slightly lower note: I liked Sakura a lot in the first episode, and I'm liking her in the flashbacks, but she's played far too much as a damsel in distress in the present. I can cut her some slack, since she's missing like eighty percent of her soul, but it makes me sad, especially as I've found her CCS incarnation adorable.

On the other hand, the other characters are great. I find Fai especially intriguing. Someday, I will actually analyze why he reminds me so much of Himemiya Anthy (though it would have to be a post-series Anthy for the analogy to really stand.) I want to know what his story is, and no, I don't want to be spoiled.

Getting to see Touya and Yukito again - and still together! - was a treat. What can I say, I'm a sap for those two.

Getting to see Sorata and Arashi again was cool, but the alternate versions were too domestic for my tastes. Where's the snark?

I swear, I called Seishirou appearing, even though I was unspoiled and he doesn't look quite the same as his Tokyo Babylon or X incarnation. Is it just me, or is this version younger? But the second the cloaked figure appeared on screen, I was all "Sei-chan? That you?" I blame my newfound psychic ability on Hokuto-muse making a reappearance. I've been out of the fandom for what, five years now? And she's still kicking around in my head. Now that's one heck of a muse!

I'm also following the manga, but I lack access to it at Bennington, so I'm currently stopped in the Ooto arc, where the manga's concerned, and that's where I'll be till I'm back in Boston.
