Oct. 5th, 2007 02:15 pmAs the winter encroaches, the time comes to embark on the last Great Hunts of the year. The deer are fattened, the fields have been reaped, and the light of the full moon illuminates the wild creatures that have come out to glean. This scent is redolent of night skies, falling leaves, and the high-pitched tension and release associated with the Hunt. Dry leaves, autumn bonfires, blood red wine, feral, animalistic notes and the chill of approaching winter.
In bottle: Sharp, and I'm not sure what-all in there is making it sweet, but something is. This is definitely a wild, hind-brain sort of scent.
On me (wet): Sweet and powerful, and somewhat intoxicating. I can definitely smell the musk and bonfires.
On me (dry): Getting a bit more of the leaves, which adds a powdery note for some reason.
Wow, this doesn't smell like I thought it would at all. Now I'm kind of sorry this bottle isn't mine.
A dark ocean breeze, electric with adrenaline, magic, and fear, clashing with the thick scent of poisoned berries and spiny aloe, against a backdrop of snowdrop, cedar, and cypress.
In bottle: Definitely the aloe, with the smell of the sea underneath, and something sweet - maybe the berries.
On me (wet): Yep, same.
On me (dry): Same, only a bit less sharp. I like this, though not as wild about it as I thought. Keeping it, but I'm not soulbonded to it or anything.
Rose, black cherry, carnation, fig, honey, plum, and black currant.
In bottle: I'm mostly getting cherry and honey. Nice and sweet.
On me (wet): Cherry compote, with an interesting spicy undertone, like cinnamon, only without making me allergic.
On me (dry): Creamy, spicy honey with carnation and cherry. Yum!
