BPAL Update
Oct. 25th, 2007 09:26 pmLong Night Moon
The nights are at their longest, the sky is at its darkest. The air is still with reflective silence.
A bouquet of night-blooming flowers, petals dusted with frost. Cereus, moonflower accord, night phlox, honeysuckle, silver thyme, white mint, and blue musk.
Interesting enough to warrant a sniff, but not to shell out for a bottle.
Sagittarius
Mutable Fire: the essence of striving.
Sage, clove, dandelion, balm of gilead, fig, and chamomile.
Ditto.
Ivanushka
Soft, velvety fur and warm musk, brushed by forest woods and dusted by dry leaves.
...Hey, I know that fairy tale! I read it as a kid. w00t!
Double ditto on the scent, though.
Lady Una
Honey musk, green tea leaf, blackberry leaf, vanilla bean, and fae spices.
Want!
Fairy Wine
An ethereal vintage, steeped with dandelion, honey, and red currants.
Want!
Famine
Sleek black tea, tobacco leaf, frankincense, lilac, and white musk.
Interesting~ Warrants at least a sniff, I think.
Madame Tracy
A coquettish blend of tea rose, ume blossom, geranium, lily of the valley, violet, and heliotrope.
Very floral and not at all what I figured for the character.
Pollution
A toxic chypre: radioactive green musk, davana, and oozing white amber.
No idea what davana is.
Hastur
Smoky-sour labdanum, black patchouli, wet tobacco, and brimstone.
Yeeeaaah, that's gonna smell like a smoker's sweatshirt on me.
Ligur
Dry olibanum, black moss, soggy ti, khus, and opoponax.
Must look up like 75% of those ingredients, as moss is the only one I recognize at all.
The Gaiman and Pratchett scents are GC, so nothing pressing in this update. I think my order for this month will be some combination of Diwali, El Dia de Reyes (hoping and praying the cinnamon is nice to me this time) The Fruit of Paradise and Midwinter's Eve.

Date: 2007-10-26 01:56 am (UTC)2. It's really, really not. On the other hand, people rave and sell their firstborn children for Schwarzer Mond, which has opoponax. So, dunno. It's one of those things that's a gamble.
