Heroes - Truth and Consequence
Nov. 28th, 2007 12:02 pm(No, there's no review for the previous episode, since it all came down to 'excellent episode, yay'.)
- With Maya finally learning control over her powers and Sylar as a really fucked up mentor figure, this plot actually stands to become interesting. Here's hoping.
- Dumb, Peter. Dumb.
- ...Oh, poop. It would have been interesting if Maya retorted to Alejandro's pointing out that Sylar's a murderer with 'So are we.' There's wanted posters for them and everything. But what she actually said - "I don't believe it." - that's just weak. Missed opportunities hurt my soul.
- But clearly Sylar is thinking along the same lines as me, whereas Maya is being dumb and doe-eyed about the whole thing. Great. I think like Sylar. Lovely. ...Interestingly enough, this is the one time he's telling the truth. And if this truth draws a parallel between him and Maya, thus winning him her sympathy, all the better.
Dude! Opportunity not missed after all. Yays! Maya simply made the connection later than I did.
- Gee, I wonder if this episode is maybe hinting as to how Adam can be taken down. Clearly, someone on the writing staff has seen Highlander. Except we know, from last season, that simple damage to the brain isn't enough, and if Claire can re-grow toes, why not a whole head. So I guess full-out brain destruction would be the only way. There are still some holes in the logic, but I'll work my way through those eventually.
- Someday, I will also figure out why seeing Maya manipulated by Sylar makes things interestingly twisty, for me, while watching Peter manipulated by Adam just makes me twitch. Maybe it's because I still hold out faint hopes for Peter's intelligence.
I will say, though, I liked Maya showing spine and a bitchy streak, for all that it was misguided.
- You know, Claire, that's what I would call Plan E. Found in the dictionary under Bad Fucking Plan.
- I love Monica, a lot.
- So, after kissing Maya, Sylar's first impulse is to contact Mohinder. Wow, the subtext is thick.
- Finally, Claire does something badass and cool this season. Ill-advised? Perhaps. Still, I actually feel like my girl is back, if only for a little while.
- "Why is saving the world always your job?" I love you, Ando.
Another episode I thought was quite good.

Date: 2007-11-28 07:13 pm (UTC)And yeah...I'm more accepting of Sylar manipulating Maya than Adam and Peter, just because I expect Maya to be stupid and easily manipulated. (Also, this is Sylar...he knows how things work- why can't that apply to people?)
And much agreement on the Ando-love. While I want to keep a pet Hiro, I just want to give Ando a hug.

Date: 2007-11-28 07:26 pm (UTC)Yeah, Sylar knows his psychology - I've never thought about it that way before, but you're right. That does fit with his power. ...Which is now gone, but he's probably internalized some of the process by now.
*snuggles Ando*

*joins in the Ando love* He's actually my favorite character.
