Thoughts at fuck-o'clock in the morning:

Man, Anita Blake sure does fuck everyone.

Theoretically, I know good vampire books must exist, but between dear Anita and Twilight, I'm losing hope. Recommendations?

Not really vampire books, but I like the way that Jim Butcher deals with them in his Dresden Files books. They didn't really show up in the TV show at all, other than very tangentially. I think one episode dealt with them. Maybe.

I've heard good things about the Sookie Stackhouse novels, though I've only read the first one. I keep meaning to read more, but I just haven't had the chance to read more of them.

It's funny, because one of our caretakers/crew recommended Butcher as well. She had one of his books with her, actually.
