You know what I'm unfond of? Journaling in actual journals. I think (and type) far faster than I write by hand, which leads to muddled thoughts and creative fuck-it. Also, it gives me carpal tunnel and I'd rather not have my wrists screwed up this early in the semester.

So of *course* we have to do regular handwritten journal entries for my Expressive Arts Therapy class. Blargh.

Is it possible to type them up and then copy them down in the handwritten journal? That way you can at least get out your thoughts, and then take breaks in between copying it down if you need to.

That's not a bad idea! Thanks!

And if things get bad enough, I may site the carpal tunnel as a medical reason and ask the professor to just let me type the bloody things 'organic process' be damned.

Yeah. I think some people are really stuck in the past for what is an organic process. It is *way* more natural for me to type than to write, and I think a lot more about what I'm going to say before I say it when I'm handwriting than when I'm typing, because if I'm typing I can delete, or C&P stuff elsewhere, but once it's handwritten, it's stuck there.

Ditto, for precisely those reasons, plus the aforementioned pain.

Wow; I'm the exact opposite. I need to do all of my creative writing by hand first; same with art/design stuff, but that's somewhat different. If I try typing something onscreen, I can't get anything out; the delete key is not your friend until you start editing.

People work differently, I guess. ^_^

That they do. :) I'm pretty good about editing on the fly and not letting it stall me out. On the other hand, I'm bound to make some kind of mistake when writing by hand and the inability to fix it will drive me nuts.
