Thou shalt not do medical research for your fics at one-o'clock in the morning. Doing so shall result in you self-diagnosing yourself with everything under the sun.

Repeat after me: You do not have Guillaine Barre Syndrome. What you have is shitty circulation, with no other symptoms.

*sigh* Maybe I just have recessive hypochondriacal (is that even a word?) tendencies.

Ah, well. Off to watch the Rikkai episodes. That type of fic research sounds like more fun right now, anyway.

It actually happens no matter what hour you do the research at. ^_^; It's a documented phenomenon among professors of any kind of medicine that every time they introduce the symptom set of another disease, a hefty chunk of the class will have to be convinced they don't have it.

This both demonstrates the difficulty of diagnosing any illness with any kind of surety, which gives me sympathy for doctors, and demonstrates the fuzziness of diagnosing any illness, which pisses me off at doctors for ever making like they're sure of their wild-assed-informed-guess.

That... makes me very glad I'm not going into any sort of medical field. And it explains why, half the time, doctors have trouble diagnosing whatever it is that I have.
