Computer Update: Take 2

Piece of Shit officially deserves its name. It won't acknowledge that I have a keyboard, won't instal Windows XP (Much less the update package I need in order to log on to the campus network), and it's godawful slow booting up, even though I spent all day and all night defragging the bloody thing!

As for the laptop, Dell is sending someone over (and by 'over', I mean 'to Mom's workplace, in Boston') to look at it, and, in all likelyhood, replace the motherboard (I won't even pretend that I know what the fuck a motherboard is, but it sounds important). That will take at least a week, and, with my luck, something else is bound to go wrong by that point.

In addition, I've discovered that, not only will the school computers not let me install AIM, but they won't even let me run AIM Express, thanks to their bloody popup blocker.

I give the fuck up.

Oh, and a question: Is this going to get me NPCed? I mean, I'd understand if that were the case, what with the no backdating policy and all, but I do kind of have extenuating circumstances.

I know you are a windows person, but the macs automatically come with iChat, which is a lot like AIM in fact I use it more often. So if it helps you can use that. A mother board is literally the brain of the computer. The cental nervous system, without it you do not really have a computer, but more like a dead shell. Kinda like what happens if you remove a brain from a person. If that helps you any. I hope your warrenty didn't run out on your laptop. It's amazing now how much we depend on technology. It's like our souls are now bonded to it.
