Let's hear it for parent-teacher conferences! I got to get out of school at 10:30, all thanks to this wonderful invention.

Yep, I'm in high school. A Senior, actually. *mumbles* Though you wouldn't be able to tell by my height - the Freshmen tower above me! And yes, they still do parent/teacher conferences at my school, though they are not mandatory. It all goes back to the school's (and my town's parents') fixation with turning out the best of the best when it comes to students. It can really be overwhelming, especially when you consider that this is a public school.
